White Horse

When I first heard the song White Horse by Taylor Swift I thought it reminded me of this silver tongued cowboy from back home I once had a crush on. A few months later I realized it actually applied more to my current situation. My former husband and I have been battling for months now about my desire to return home with our daughter. When we broke up, more than a year ago, he actually told me I would never find anyone as good as him. Now, I'll skip my urge to point out ALL the things wrong with that statement and skip to how this applies to the song. He always apologizes after he's caught and is willing to do anything to make up for his betrayal. I believed for years that no matter what love would win and we would have our happy ending. But he never came through with those promises and always found another way to betray me. Finally, I wised up. I realized that there has to be someone out there who will love me the way I deserve to be loved. It felt good to walk away from the dream that never was.
