The Season of Thanks
It is the season of thanks. The time of year when people start to ask themselves, "What am I thankful for?" So, I ask myself the same question and each day until Thanksgiving I will write a new answer to the question.
I am thankful for the amazing friends and family I have. They stretch literally from coast to coast. Some have been with me since I was a baby. Others have just recently found their way into my life in some way. But I know I could not have made it through the things I have without each and every one of them.
It took me a long time to accept my past for what it is. In all the years of running, I left behind some pretty amazing people. Luckily, I have found my way back to most of them and been welcomed with open arms. We can't change our past. We must not dwell on it. But we can learn from it and move on. And today I am thankful for the people in my life whom have allowed me and helped me do just that.
